Hi everybody. Welcome on my blog. I’m Marc Burth, born in 1972, cameraman. I live with my girlfriend and my daughter in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. Friends from all over the world always ask me questions about what life in Prenzlauer Berg is like, so I decided to have this blog and to write mainly in English, so everybody can understand.
Recently, some critical newspaper articles (here you find the original ZEIT article and this is the English translation) started a discussion about what famous Prenzlauer Berg and its inhabitants are really like: Avantgarde or establishment, bourgeois or bohème, narrow-minded village or Berlin’s window to the world?

Seit Anfang 2010 haben sich unsere Lebensumstände geändert. Wir sind nach Italien gezogen, nach Ligurien genauer gesagt. Nicht für immer, aber bis zum Sommer werden wir auf jeden Fall hierbleiben. Aber nicht nur äußerlich hat sich viel getan, auch meine Wahrnehmung der Welt, der Politik, unserer Demokratie, hat sich entscheidend verändert. Wie und wodurch werde ich künftig hier berichten.
